Microsoft has an application that makes it easy to turn your mobile device into a convenient scanner that lets you capture and edit information within seconds. Here’s how to use it.
Have you ever wanted to capture everything written on a whiteboard after a long brainstorming session with your team? Or maybe you’ve been out and about getting receipts and writing on sticky notes – only to lose or misplace some of them? Microsoft has a fantastic solution that works like a portable scanner. Microsoft Lens makes it easy to capture and edit information within seconds.
How does it work?
Microsoft Lens uses optical character recognition (OCR) technology to turn your mobile device into a portable scanner. It’s easy to use:
- Take a photo of the whiteboard, receipt, note, etc.
- Crop, rotate or give it a sharper focus as needed
- Your photo is converted into a digital file
- Edit, share or save your digital file as needed
It’s like magic. You can sketch ideas down and save them for later, share that whiteboard photo to colleagues who missed the meeting and save receipts without hassle. Images can easily be converted to the following:
- PDF files
- Word files
- PowerPoint files
They can be saved to OneNote, OneDrive, or your local device.
How can you download the application?
